Kyle Davis, President

My name is Kyle Davis, President of Edward’s Lawn & Home.  I started the business while a junior at Towson University back in 2007.  Upon graduation, I jumped in full time and decided to focus completely on growing the company, building a client base and hiring staff.  Over the years we have grown substantially since our first day in business, building a talented team of managers, sales professionals, office administration and field production staff.  We have also broadened our client reach to include both commercial and residential properties throughout the majority of Central Maryland.

At this juncture, my primary role is focused on recruiting and hiring new talent to bring onto the Edward’s team, business development, financial management and implementing strategic growth plans to continue moving the company forward.  Our vision and goal is to become an industry leader with multiple branch locations spread throughout the Maryland, Northern Virginia and DC markets.  Working hard each day to develop a strong team, build company culture and develop an organization thats better today then it was yesterday, is a large personal driver for me.  When each of our individual team members live out the company’s core values on a daily basis, and are given the tools and resources to succeed and develop both professionally and personally, inevitably the company as a whole becomes stronger and more successful.  As a result, this provides our clients with the absolute highest level of satisfaction, in the field workmanship and complete customer service experience.  We’re not happy until our clients are!

While this company is a big part of who I am, and is certainly embedded deeply in my life, the balance between this and my time outside of work is as equally important to me.  When I’m not in the office, you can find me typically spending time with my wife and two dogs.  We currently reside on a small farm in Glenelg, Maryland with routine hobbies to include gardening, growing our own vegetables and raising chickens.  I also enjoy spending time with family, traveling, playing golf, cooking, real estate, and snowboarding in the winter months.

Art Ditzel, Director of Operations

Hi, my name is Art Ditzel, Director of Operations at Edwards Lawn & Home. I started with Edward’s as an Account Manager, focusing solely on sales and business development.  During the winter of 2018, I was promoted into my current role as Director of Operations.  My primary responsibilities at the moment are divided between the overall day to day management of the company, coaching backend management and sales staff, scheduling projects, client management, and continued sales and business development.  I spend a fair amount of my day coaching and leading our backend management and sales teams.  I assist in implementing strategic growth and development plans to ensure they are delegated to the proper departments, and carried out as efficiently, professionally and safely as possible.

I entered the landscape industry at age 13 working, on the grounds crew at the Bay Hills Golf course. From there I was hired by a local lawn care company and promoted to a foreman level position at the age of 16. Eventually I found myself at one of the nations largest lawn care companies, until opening my own company just a few years later.  After 5 years of being in business for myself, I decided to close the doors and focus on my family and my faith, taking a position at a general contracting company as a Director of Compliance. After my time spent in this role, I re-entered the green industry after meeting Kyle. I was so excited to find a company striving to do things the correct way along with the vision for accelerated growth, that I signed on right away.

I currently reside in Arnold, Maryland with my beautiful wife and four amazing boys. When not at work I spend the majority of my time with my family and friends. We are involved in our local church and I run a weekly men’s bible study. My hobbies include coaching youth sports, keeping an aquarium, reading, gardening, volunteering at local charities and playing with our pets.

My number one professional goal is to see Edward’s become the highest rated, most distinguished lawn and landscape company within the Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia market. My number one personal goal is to lead, coach and encourage others to live a life of honor and integrity, one where they put others first and give back to their community.  I look forward to meeting and working with you!

 

Kristin Simpson, Office Manager

My name is Kristin Simpson, I’ve been apart of the Edward’s Team since 2017 as the Office Manager. I enjoy all aspects of business and customer service, both internally and externally. I have been in the accounting and leadership fields for over 15 years.  I enjoy planning, coaching, strategizing, and building within the business realm. At Edward’s, I can participate in all that I enjoy doing each and every day as the company continues to grow.  In being a member of the Edward’s Team, I have been fortunate enough to help in all of these areas and look forward to the future of Edward’s.  On a daily basis, I handle all aspects of the company’s AR, AP and HR and keep the back end of the office running like a well oiled machine.

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy being a mother to my son, Lewie, who just began his first year at UMD.  His Major is in Computer Engineering at the James A. Clark School of Engineering. I also truly enjoy watching him play Rugby, even though it is scary from a mother’s point of view and I don’t truly understand the sport.  Edward’s Lawn & Home was his first job before starting at UMD, and he really enjoyed his time here.  I also enjoy being a mother to my Shih Tzu, Ellie. She has been my best friend through the transition of Lewie moving on campus at UMD. My other favorite thing in life is helping others smile, even if only for a moment. I try to give my time, an ear, advice, empathy, a card or anything I can at the time, to brighten others’ days. I truly believe that is all people need at times, and I genuinely believe that it’s part of my purpose.

Phil MeGown, Production Manager

My name is Phillip MeGown, Production Manager here at Edward’s Lawn & Home. I joined the Edward’s Team as a landscape installation foreman back in 2017, and transitioned into a management role during the early part of 2018.

My typical day to day for me includes the oversight and training of crews, safety training and awareness, quality control of client projects, and scheduling of new field production work. I am a certified ICPI installer, and have many years of hands on experience in the landscape industry, including but not limited to: landscape maintenance, irrigation, drainage, concrete pavers, patio installation and residential and commercial construction. I’m a firm believer in hard work, quality and customer service.

When I am not at work, I enjoy hiking, football, and spending time with my family. I am a proud husband and father of three kids.
